    Dear Friends, Colleagues, Starfarers, Dimensional Hoppers, Sliders, Ambassadors and Personally ... and the Party People of Gendar 9;

        My first and foremost is to wish everyone a Happy New Year, with health and happiness for you and yours.

        Happily over this Holiday season, Planet Loscon issued around 1300 Visas / Station Memberships to those on board.   All Enjoying the exchange of fun and friendship in the name of Fandom.

        The weekend certainly had the pleasure of wonderful events day and night.

        I was pleased to hear from people (and the non-people) what a wonderful time they had.

        Our GoH's David Weber, Nene Thomas, and Patti Wells all had a great time and were happy to find Loscon a friendly and close knit group.   Even Nichelle Nichols (and her short visit) expressed how wonderful / friendly the con was.

        As always, there are a million people to thank for taking their time to make the convention such a success ... but here's a shot ...

Hi Ho Fellow Fhen,

It is my great privilege to invite you to join us on PLANET LOSCON, LosCon's 29th annual gathering of Fun, Friends and Fantasy.   OK look at it this way, it's a great escape from Thanksgiving and a Relaxing time just before the Holidays really kick off. :)

What can you look forward to in November??

And in No Particular Order:
An Ice Cream Social, Dances, Art Show, Dealer's Room, Masquerade, Con Suite, Anime, Gaming, Panels, People, Filking, the non People, Children's Programming, Fun and Frolic, Lux After Dark, Parties, Children's Writing Contest ... and a chance to make New Friends or renew old ones ... We even have Charitable Events like the Blood Drive, Toy drive ... and Much much more ... And if you Still feel Antsy - Volunteer and earn those hours for a pass-on ...

This year we feature our Planetary Space Station #29 in Sector 2K2.   A cross-time, inter-dimensional hub.   Mind the signs "There be Dragons" and "There be Transporters" (and hopefully the twain shall never meet) :)

Featuring and thanking our Guests of Honor.

Author Guest of Honor:   David Weber - Author of the Honor Harrington Series (and many more) and Making his first West Coast Appearance.   You can't miss him ... I hear he's at least 6 ft Tall anyway!!   And a fellow Fan.

Artist Guest of Honor:   Nene Thomas - Fantastic Fantasies of Color and Imagination.   A Winged Unicorn Zebra in a Carousel Style running thru the Forest to spark the imagination ... and wait till you see the rest (visit her website to see).

Fan Guest of Honor:   Patty Wells - Our Fellow Fan from up North and the Next Chair of Orycon 25.   And like the LosCon Chair, has a taste for Theater in Fandom.   She also has a taste for Mysteries and teaches computer applications.   Ask about her most memorable fannish adventures ... even I'd like to know about the kidnapping of a giant stuffed armadillo ...

Of course, there will also be the "usual suspects".   Experience Fandom from around the area at the Fan Tables, Autographs, and Artist's Concourse.   Just be sure to Register at MIB - Burbank.   Have Questions or comments? - Keep Checking the website for updates or feel free to contact the Chair and his associates.

For the "weary traveler", we recommed a stay at the Burbank Airport Hilton.   Get your rooms while we remember the Chlormidian content or was that the Oxide balances, for the "Fans from Planet 20."

IN ANY CASE.   We look forward to your company, to all of you who make this convention as Memorable as possible ... and Don't keep it to yourself ... bring/recommend us to your friends.   Drag a few family members along so they too can enjoy a whole new culture and world ...

See you when you make planetfall ... mind the Step ... :)
