Once again, the Saturday Masquerade is on!

Bring your costumes!

Show off your talents!

Have fun on stage!

Planet LosCon's Masquerade will be held on Saturday, November 30th.   Participant registration will be located in the Convention Center at the coat check kiosk across from the Art Show (see Hotel Layout).

Register On Site!

Registration will be open Friday and will run through noon Saturday.   All entry forms and audiotapes must be submitted to Masquerade Registration by noon Saturday.   Please clearly label and cue up your tapes to assist the tech staff with your presentation.

REMEMBER:   No Open Flames.   No Live Steel.   No Projectiles.   No Costumes made from food products.   And ... No Costume is still No Costume.

There is no smoking or air-brushing in the Convention Center [or hotel room either ... sorry, they tend to set off the alarms].   This includes the back-stage area.   Furthermore, all weapons must be peace bonded when not being used onstage as part of a presentation. Most importantly, be creative, have fun and enjoy your visit to Planet LosCon!

The Frauggworld Ambassador will arive on The Station for a goodwill tour to establish diplomatic contact with other visiting alien species.   Ambassador Kermit will tour The Station on Friday and Saturday, perched atop his favorite riding camera, extending the flipper of interstellar friendship.   Don't be afraid.   Talk to the Fraugg.   Choice interviews from the Ambassador's visit will be screened on Saturday evening during the Masquerade intermission, in the annual presentation of "The Virtual Masquerade."

Tired of wearing the same old thing to conventions that you wear everywhere else?   Then get out of that mundane rut.

Use your imagination and put together a hall costume to wear at LosCon.   It can be as simple or as elaborate as you want (after all this isn't the Masquerade, you have to live in the costume).   Dress as a Jedi Knight or a Hobbit or a Starship Captain - or any other fantasy or science fiction character that appeals to you.   Act as if you are that character for the day - it's part of the fun of wearing a costume.   Think of it as a role playing game where you don't have to worry about the throw of the dice.

Outstanding costumes will receive hall costume awards, and a list of award winners will be printed in the daily newszine.   Look for the Kermit-cam and be filmed for the Virtual Masquerade.   It's all part of having a fun time and adding a personal touch to the convention atmosphere.
