Planet LosCon

CHARITY EVENTS

Blood DriveToy Drive

Moonbase A-Positive
Blood Moon Blood Drive

Friday, November 29th.

Last year we had our best turnout ever!   Forty-nine donations at the Biology 101 blood drive.   This year, Moonbase A-Positive hopes to collect even more before leaving Planet LosCon.   There will be fresh home-made cookies and other lunar rations served at the cantina, as well as a raffle for several Earth-bound prizes.

See the Location of this Charity Event on the Hotel Layout Page.

Come early and don't get left behind (on a planet which will be flooded by gigantic tidal waves when the moon breaks orbit, then will have no tides, causing all marine plant life to die, causing a slow but severe disruption in the land-based eco-system starting with animals that depend on the sea for food and moving inland -- trust me, you don't want to be stuck there!)

Annual Toy Drive

Gentlebeings, I bring you greetings.

The purpose of this missive is to remind you that, once again, there will be a Loscon holiday toy drive.   Thanks to the generosity of you good people, in past years, we have been able to bring joy to children who usually don't have much to look forward to.

As in previous LosCons, we are using the standard "Toys for Tots" format.   This means new toys in the original packaging.   Also fresh stuffies are desirable.   Please don't gift wrap them; the wrap must be removed by the Salvation Army.   They need to see each gift to match it with the appropriate child.

Some of the best suggestions I would offer are old reliables like Tonka trucks, Hot Wheels, stuffies, basketballs, or anything that runs on imagination and a child's energy.   I would not recommend toys that run on batteries, or otherwise requires parents to put out money they don't have.

I thank you all, and am looking forward to seeing you at LosCon.
