Need a trip to donation land?   There’s no better way to go than the scenic BLOOD DRIVE EXPRESS.   Once aboard, our RCs (Registered Conductors) will punch your vein and stow your baggage of blood cells.   Afterwards, have some refreshments in Dinah, the dining car, serving a variety of juices and homemade cookies.   Sorry, Ashley the smoking car will not be available.   Once we arrive at our destination, passengers will receive a ticket for our railroad raffle, prizes including a $10.00 and a $20.00 gift card to Barnes and Noble, and a free membership to next year’s Loscon.

LOSCON TOY DRIVE

Once again the holiday season is lurching toward us with grim certainty.   We must prepare for visits from our families  (note -- renew minefields in the front yard), be of good cheer  (lay in two cases of Irish dew) and above all remember the Loscon toy drive.   Once again we will be operating out of the con suite.   The hours of operation will be posted at registration and other places.   The guidelines are the same as "Toys for tots", namely new and unwrapped  (an exception will be made for clean stuffies in mint condition).   I would also suggest that given the circumstances that many of these children live under toys that can eat their own weight in batteries or need expensive accessories in order to perform to their full potential  (unless you want to provide those as well)  are not the best choices.   I hope to see a lot of you there.   Thank you very much.
