"Portola Bay" - A Novel -
Presentation by Author Jan Suzukawa
"Portola Bay" is a mystery/psychological suspense
novel. "Portola Bay" is available through Amazon.com and
other web booksellers. I self-published this book
through iUniverse.com. I know that many Loscon
members are writers who want to break through and
start seeing their work in print. I would be happy to
discuss my experiences with iUniverse and
self-publishing this novel with anyone who attends my
hour presentation.

SIGN UP TO PRESENT YOUR OWN DEMONSTRATION
This year for the first time, LosCon is making available a few rooms for members to personally reserve to present readings, demonstrations, or other items they feel might be of interest to their fellow LosCon members. These rooms are labeled the Writer's Lounge and the Artist's Lounge (see Hotel Layout). There is also one room designated specifically for Birds of a Feather Meetups. This is an opportunity for you, a LosCon member, to directly influence a portion of LosCon's programming. Space reservations will be allocated on a first come / first serve (slightly juried) basis with all decisions made by the Chair being absolute and final. You must have a full membership to LosCon in order to place a reservation. Individuals can only reserve 1 one-hour time slot. Groups can request a larger block of time for workshops or presentations within the Writer's Lounge or Artist's Lounge and will be given precedence in terms of scheduling. Time allotment will be allocated by the LosCon Chair. Simply e-mail chair34@loscon.org and provide the following information: title of presentation/workshop, description, name of presenter/s, and preferred date and time. You will receive a reply within a few days. Groups and individuals will be fully responsible for their own publicity for their event and the event must be open to all and be at least PG-13. If said reservation is made early enough, it will be posted here on the web and given to the on-site newszine editor. Information about these sessions will not be published within the Program Book or in the Pocket Program. Remember, the convention is only providing a space with chairs and a table, no audio/visual or other tech. Take advantage of this opportunity and e-mail to reserve a time today - there is already a Poetry session and an Eaton collection workshop scheduled for Saturday afternoon in the Writer's Lounge (see the Workshops page). Future schedulings will also be posted here to allow better time/day requests for reservations.
