CHILDREN'S PROGRAMMING

LosCon is intended to be an event for the entire family to enjoy.   We showcase a specific tract of programming put together by a credentialed elementary school teacher and designed with children in mind.   In addition to archaeology-themed activities (artifact excavations, coin and arrowhead making) at specific times, potty-trained children ages 3 to 12 can participate throughout the weekend in a wide range of entertainments in their own "Ziggurat" Room (see the Scottsdale location on the Convention Layout page).   In this room there will be activity areas for art, reading, and play.   This year, for the first time, children can participate in a "Kids Night Out" on Saturday.   This special evening programming will include folk dancing, storytelling and games.   There will also be a Masquerade on Saturday night.   Children are encourage to join in by coming dressed as a favorite, book, film or television character and showing it to the public upon our masquerade stage.   All children who enter the masquerade will receive a ribbon for their participation.   Parents are encouraged to participate in this Children's Programming along with their kids as a whole family activity.   If you have questions, please e-mail children's programming at KidsRoom34@loscon.org.
