LOSCON 30 GUEST BIO

JAMES STANLEY DAUGHERTY

James Stanley Daugherty grew up in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky, but discovered photography through Bernie Freemesser at the University of Oregon.   He was looking to develop skills that would be useful in his career in archaeology; instead he discovered an art form.   He later pursued both his photography and archaeology in New Zealand.   He has also worked as a postman, technical writer, lab technician, librarian, international investor, and crab pot repairman.   He recently won an scholarship at the Academy of Arts College in San Francisco, where he has just finished his Master of Fine Arts degree.   He is active in California and Nevada fan organizations and the President of the Ultimate Eye Foundation for the digital and photographic arts.   Noted for his award winning romantic fantasy photography, he thinks that almost any landscape could be improved by adding a few nudes.
