Toy Drive

Gentlebeings, I bring you greetings. The purpose of this missive is to remind you to bring the molasses, charcoal, plumbing tools and blasting caps when we meet at the sauna tonight. Oops, forget about that; what I want to discuss with you folks is that, once again, there will be a Loscon holiday toy drive. Thanks to the generosity of you good people, in past years we have been able to bring joy to children who usually don't have much to look forward to.

As in previous Loscons, we are using the standard Toys for Tots format. This means new toys in the original packaging. Also fresh stuffies are desirable. Please don't gift wrap them; the wrap must be removed by the Salvation Army. They need to see the gift to match it with the appropriate child.

Some of the best suggestions I would offer are old reliables like Tonka trucks, Hot Wheels, stuffies, basketballs or anything that runs on imagination and a child's energy. I would not recommend toys that run on batteries, need accessories or otherwise require parents to put out money they don't have. I thank you all, and am looking forward to seeing you at Loscon.
