Zoom LASFS Meetings will be held by Matthew Tepper while California's "Shelter at Home" rules are in force. Contact Matthew by email or Facebook for information. Dues can be paid by Paypal to payment@lasfs.org.
Susan Fox posted on the LASFS's Facebook group: The LASFS has been meeting via Zoom since a year ago April. [I'm hosting them, and donating the premium access.] This spring, we discussed when and if to start renting meeting space for live meetings, and it was decided to stay on Zoom until December, and probably until we bought our own new place. Why throw rent money away? And some of the members who have moved away have enjoyed spending time with the club again, in the comfort of their own homes.
The Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society, founded October 27, 1934, is this world's oldest continuously-active science-fiction and fantasy club. Come in any Thursday at 8 PM to our weekly meeting. Visitors and prospective members are always welcome.
Click Visitors to learn about membership fee and dues. Ask someone to point out the Registrar, who will ask you to fill out a guest card.
The (unofficial) LASFS newsletter is De Profundis .

The LASFS meeting begins around 8:00 PM, every Thursday night, but there's usually something going on before then.
Visitors may attend three free meetings. After that, we'll ask them to fill out a membership form and pay a $10 membership fee. Once you've joined, there is no need to renew — ever. (Dues are required each time you attend a meeting, though monthly and annual rates are available.) Dues are also required if you attend an open house or any other "non-paid event" on a day other than Thursday.
(The LASFS Library has been packed up. Our loss of the clubhouse means we no longer have open houses.)
