President Matthew Tepper gaveled meeting #4050 to order at 7:55

He then read something from Isaac Asimov where he described Harlan Ellison, and a paragraph from Boskone ‘72.

Menace from last meeting were read.  John DeChancie bid $6 to have Harlan name them “Bernie” They were so accepted.

President Tepper then gave Harlan Ellison a book to do with as he pleases.

Marty Cantor also presented Harlan a copy of the zine he had in APA-L #9

Both items were handed to Susan to be placed in the Gold Vault

Matthew Tepper announced that sadly, Peggy Rae Sapienza has passed away after complications from heart surgery. She was so good an organizer you never saw her actually organizing things; it just happened.

The treasurer was not here, due to dental work including anaesthesia

March 28, a celebration of the life and career of Leonard Nimoy. Bring guests. Start time is 2 PM. We have David Gerrold and others coming to speak, video clips.  (Do we have any of the “Spocked” Canadian banknotes?)  

Marcia Minsky announced her co-chairmanship of Loscon 42, November 27-29 this year at the LAX Marriott.  This Sunday at 1 PM we have a meeting. Bring ideas, suggestions, etc.

Marty Cantor: She’s been here once or twice; at the previous buildings, she was one of our better librarians. We’d like to see her here more often.

Announcements, Regular or Time Bound

Eric Hoffman announced the existence of the film version of Seven Footprints of Satan, with Italian title cards; and a production of Ten Little Indians from the 50s; and a first premiere episode of Dow Mystery Theater’s The Bat written by Mary Roberts Reinhardt.  Footage is in CLJII’s custody.

Adjournment: It was moved and seconded, and we adjourned to talking amongst ourselves at 8:23. Most of us stayed to hear Harlan talk among himself.
