Dan Deckert

The President actually knows him!

Marty Cantor” When Dan was a member in the 70s, he was working for Hughes Aircraft.  They were making Tow missiles. This was an antitank missile that was wire guided.  He was a very good president of the LASFS.  He came up with “all in favor say aye, all opposed say aye, the ayes have it.”  He’s now living in Missouri.

Joe Zeff:  Last time Dan was here, he mentioned having gotten that schtick from someplace else, but he was the first to use it here.

Darnell Coleman Likes his diary posts in Facebook.

Matthew Tepper: We miss him.

Dan Deckert was given three cheers and “mek”.

This is an “agenda lite” meeting because of the auction.  Next week we have a special meeting.  The regular meeting will start at 8, and be 45 minutes long. At 8:45, we start a special meeting, topic being the termination of membership of Harold Goldstein.  You must be a member in good standing in order to vote: paid up dues, paid up library fines, no outstanding debts.

Also: we will expect people to observe the code of conduct.  Karl Lembke and Marty Cantor will both take minutes.

Coming up:

3/20 auction

3/27, special business TBA

4/3 Sandra Stoller presents

4/10: meeting 4000

4/17 Big Auction

4/24: Larry and Jerry speak.

CLJII announced LA 4000 on April 26 and 27, a celebration of the longevity of the LASFS and its predecessor, Chapter 4 of the Science Fiction League.   This and next week are the last weeks to get $25 memberships. Buy memberships now so we know what to order from caterers.

Michelle Pincus: Anyone reading our facebook and knowing Cal Cotton: the end is near.  He’s in good spirits.  Address to visit is on the LASFS facebook page.  Please keep visits short.

Time-bound Announcements  Reviews  Fannish Committee Reports  Miscellaneous

Matthew Tepper: We have lost writer Lucius Shepard.  He had a stroke last year, and that may be what did him in.

Thursday April 10, we celebrate Meeting 4000.  David Gerrold will preside over the mess.  We’ll have a special panel on generations of the LASFS.  There will be a collage of old photos.

Lights!  Camera!  Auction!!!

Stuff was bid upon.

Several people moved to adjourn. It was seconded.

And so we adjourned at 9:12 PM.
