Meeting # 3984, December 19, 2013

President Eylat Poliner called meeting #3984 to order at fifteen dozen seconds after 8.

The Menace were read. Debra Levin bid $1 to call the Menace “Oh Deer”.

Matthew Tepper: he’s a fellow Mac User. Occasionally appears at the club. He is good natured fellow and willing to share internet connections.

Steve McGinty was given three cheers and a mac attack.

Heide Nichols

Michelle: she runs a wonderful games room at conventions

Safer: she’s a nice person, fun to be around.

Poliner: she baked over 200 scones for the Loscon tea on site.

While she was baking at her house, the house caught on fire. Fortunately, all is well.

Marty Cantor” Heide lives up in Big Bear area, comes down here once in a while. She recently had a breast cancer operation.  She’s a board gamer, and she’s responsible for the Code of Conduct sign.

Heide Nichols was given three cheers and a green dragon mah jong tile.

Registrar Michelle was summoned.  We have guests. We had a guest back on 12/13: David Beal.

CLJII had the lantern O’Jack passed, and announced the Winter Holiday Party.

LASFS members and their guests are welcome to attend. There will be movies, food, including hot food, and merriment.

April 26-27 in honor of our 4000th meeting we have a mini con. We probably have Tim Powers and David Gerrold in attendance. There will be speakers, panels, videos, fun and frolic.

We will also celebrate our 4000th meeting the day of.

January 4 features the Cosplay sewing circle.

Marty Cantor reported on the Gift Exchange.  It was a bit more lightly attended, but fun was had by all. There was extensive trading. The potluck worked quite well. There were lots of neat gifts.  Gavin did a very good job and Michelle was very helpful.  People jumped in to clean because the next day was the formal. Barbara Harmon did the best vacuuming this place has ever had.

The very memorable Tom Safer reported on TSPC this Saturday, presenting The Nutcracker. Starts at 10.

Time-bound Announcements

There is food on the freebie table left over from his concert.

The Committee to Gouge was summoned. Much stuff was auctioned off.

David Okamura: NASA is going ahead with space walks to replace the broken pump for the ISS.

Multiple motions were moved for adjournment, and they were all was seconded.

We adjourned at  9:39 PM.

In response to Joe Zeff, the merriment will be innocent.
