Board Members in attendance: Karl Lembke, Mike Thorsen, Michelle Pincus, Marcia Minsky, Rob Powell, Arlene Satin, Marty Cantor, and Warren “Whisky” Johnson. Elayne Pelz, Christian McGuire, and Eylat Poliner had excused absences.

Members and Guests: Joe Zeff, Michael Pell, Matthew B. Tepper, Joyce Sperling, Greg Barrett, Frank Waller, June Moffatt, Jeni Burr, Tim Trzepacz, Ed Hooper, Tony Benoun, Sherry Benoun, Tom Safer.

Called to order: The meeting was called to order at 11:11 am.Chairman (Karl Lembke): The Chairman told us it was a Happy March and was named after the god Mars.

Minutes: The minutes of the Meeting of February 10, 2013, were accepted as presented.

New Members: There was one application for membership in the Society presented to the Board: Christopher Haber. He was accepted.

\Treasurer: Michelle reported that we have money but we shouldn't spend it and we should not even think of spending it until Elayne gets back. .

30 Second Reports:

Chairman (Karl Lembke): No report.

Vice Chairman (Christian McGuire): (At Condor.)

Secretary (Marty Cantor): No report.

Publications (Marty Cantor): No report.

Comptroller (Michelle Pincus): Everything is Completely Comptrolled.

Quartermaster/Supplies (Mike Thorsen):Soda units sold: 25,233 units to date, 223 units this period. Soda money: $19,952.50 to date, $225.25 for this period. We purchased paper products and there was an emergency rain gutter modification. There was a mystery filler of our propane tanks. Kudos to whoever has filled our propane tanks.

Library (Warren "Whisky" Johnson): There is a space problem as we have a lot of books and not much space for all of these books. Greg pointed out that we also need more people to help shelve books. Matthew Tepper was asked to bring up, at the Thursday meeting, the problem of not enough help. Greg Barrett said that another two people would be a big help.

Archives (Marcia Minsky): We have archives and they are available for use.

Physical Plant (Elayne Pelz): Thorsen said that Marc Schirmeister will be helping today on the mailbox problem.

AV Equipment (Rob Powell): Nobody has told him of any problems since the last meeting.

Events (Eylat Poliner): (Eylat is at Condor.) There will still be a LOSCON this year. Mah Jongg tournament is still on for the 1st weekend of April. The Chili Cook-off will be on June 9.

Fund-raising and Recruitment (Arlene Satin): The March date for the lecture series is gone by the wayside. There was a small discussion about a Weapons Demonstration – old weapons. The Board agreed that a Weapons Demonstration could be held at the club.

(Significant Others)

Marketing Committee (Arlene Satin): Arlene thanked Michelle for handling things during Arlene's illness. Michelle mentioned that she is working with the Burbank Library. Tim Griffin will be the Halloween programme for children in the Burbank Library. Shawn Crosby will be helping with a couple of things.

Club President (Matthew B. Tepper):Joe has spoken to the Thursday night meeting for definitions and guidelines for cooking at clubhouse. // There was a discussion of holding elections of the next LOSCON concom at Thursday meetings right after the accepted concoms were accepted by the Board, given small attendance at times.

WEB MASTER (Barry Gold): Marty Cantor reported that the web master had not given him any items to report.

Agenda Items:

Building closing time on Fridays. Marcia asked for a consensus of the Board about when the closing time should be. The consensus of the Board is that closing is at the discretion of the last-attending key-holder. There was also a question of closing on Second Sundays. This should be posted and made official.

Matthew has been letting the meetings know of the business taken by the Board.

Open Forum:

The next meeting of the Board will be April 14, 2013.
