Special Orders of Business

Charlie Jackson mentioned the untimely death of Natasha Richardson, of The Handmaid's Tale. She fell on the beginner's ski slope, hit her head. There were no apparent ill effects

The Menace were read and approved as “They been done”.

Patron Saint

Dan Deckert

Milt: he was president at least once, in APA-L at least 500 issues, married Danise cook, the eldest of the Cook sisters, chaired a Loscon, lived some place chilly in South Dakota, then moved to Minneso-cold. Now in Ohio.

Joe Zeff: Dan has achieved the feat of keeping a lifetime positive balance in the Hell games. He does this by playing until his balance for the year is positive, and then immediately stopping until the next year.

Marty Cantor: He did artwork for covers for LASFAPA, and lots of space ships. They looked like they were made of wood, but still interesting. HE came up with the maneuver, “all in favor say aye, all opposed say aye, the ayes have it.” At the time he started here, he worked for Hughes Air Craft as a project manager

Christian: He was half of the pair who shared a room at a convention. They agreed that if you leave a tie on the outside of the door, do not disturb. They discovered each other Sunday afternoon, both having avoided disturbing the other, and no one knows who tied up the room.

Dan Deckert was given three cheers, and an anomalous necktie.

There was no old business.

From Elayne: The directory update will be published soon. Check your info now.

We also have club information on line, including forums.

There was no new business.

Committee Reports

Registrar announced no guests tonight.

Treasurer announced that we have money, and don't spend it.

Time Bound Announcements

We have a work party tomorrow evening.

Matthew Tepper notes an anniversary. Tomorrow will be the 40th anniversary of his joining LASFS.

The Committee to Gouge did so. True Blood went for $5.

Fannish Committee Reports

Doug Crepeau finished viewing all the Black Adder episodes. They are clearly SF.

And he started to report on the mosquito zapping laser system. When interrupted, he switched over to a report on a near combat-ready 100 KW laser weapon.

We recessed for the reading of the proposed changes to the by-laws and standing rules.

Following that.....
